Sunday, 19 April, was to be the day when hundreds of cyclists rode ‘On Your Bike.’
Gravesend Rotary’s famous ride raises funds for charities and this year especially Alzheimer’s and Dementia Support Services.
Gravesend Rotary has discovered that this charity urgently needs funds through the extra demands of the virus emergency and the effects of lockdown. But at the same time they have drastic loss of regular income and cancelling of fund raising events.
People affected by dementia and their families are needing guidance and support throughout this pandemic. They also operate the Kent Dementia Helpline and have responded to 950 contacts since lockdown began.
The charity is also working closely with health and social professionals to identify those people living with dementia at risk of isolation and ill health so that they can

Organised for 34
years by The Rotary Club of Gravesend
On Your Bike is vital for many charities and as the corona virus emergency has evolved we find that such an event as ours is no longer possible. So we have straight away decided on a new date and look forward to you all booking in.
Sunday, 20 September is now the date for you all to join us at Gravesend Riverside Leisure Area and go for the biggest event we have ever had.
Gravesend Rotary has announced that the main beneficiary for 2020 is Alzheimer's and Dementia Support Services. See the 'Help Them' page.
If you have already registered look out for an email from us (also being sent to all our event contacts) and we will automatically transfer your registration to the postponed ride. If you take this option please keep your riders' pack to use in September.
You may cancel your registration. If you wish to cancel please email email@example.com (and not any other address). If you choose this option we can refund your entry donation if you ask us for it. However please consider leaving it as a donation to the charities we support. We will not return your entry donation unless you ask for its return.
We look forward to your support for our ride now planned for Sunday, 20 September.
Thanks to our riders we are able to provide help and progress. Thanks to our sponsors we are able to hand over the maximum possible to help.
But we also need to recognise help from all these people:
Local Rotary and Lions clubs, Gravesend Cyclists Touring Club, Medway Raynet.
We also have support from Inner Wheel, Tri the Bike Shop, Lancaster Interiors, Singlewell Stationery,
and Gravesham Borough Council.
This year again we are pleased to work with Gullands (solicitors) and Nuffield Health Medway, Gravesend & Dartford Cycle Forum and the Cyclopark at Gravesend.
IMPORTANT FOR YOU. Remember that you must give your number at each check point you reach. Please do!
